How to Make
First you want to rinse your rice in cold water. The water will look milky, this will help to remove excess starch.
Then dump the rice into your pressure cooker. Add water, oil and salt.
Place lid on pressure cooker making sure your valve is set to sealing. Pressure cook 5 minutes on high.
Once your timer is done allow the rice to natural release for 10 minutes. Then safely push off remaining steam.
Remove lid, fluff rice, and serve perfect and easy jasmine rice!
If you want you can save any leftover rice in the fridge for up to 5 days. The rice can dry out a bit so add a little water and stir before heating.
Jasmine rice is great to use for meal prepping as well.
You can freeze jasmine rice if you do not plan to eat it right away. Simply allow rice to cool then place in an airtight container. Freeze for 2-3 months.
Tips For Making Rice
- Adding a little oil helps to prevent rice from sticking, but also allows the rice to not foam up and make a mess.
- Salt is optional but it brings out the flavor in the rice.
- You can add herbs, spices, etc if you want to flavor rice when you cook.
- Broth or stock can be used in replace of water.
