Let's say that you have extended family or long-distance friends coming into town that you'd like to prepare a meal for.

Your Instant Pot Jalapeno Popper Chicken Pasta is a hit and you're looking to stretch it to accommodate a full house.

The Jalapeno Popper Chicken Pasta calls for 6 cups of water, and we learned in our How Many Ounces In A Cup article that 1 cup of water equals to 8 fluid ounces.

Ways to Measure a Gallon of Liquid

One of the easiest ways to measure a gallon of liquid is to fill up half a gallon milk or juice carton twice.

Another trick can be to use your Instant Pot Inner Pot! 1 gallon of liquid equals to 4 quarts of liquid, as discussed in our How Many Quarts In A Gallon article.

So, if you're using the 8-quart inner pot, then you'll need to fill it up halfway and if using the 6 quarts then you need to fill it up 3/4 of the way.

If your inner pot is occupied, then you can also use a 4-quart stockpot and fill it completely or a 14 cup coffee maker pot and fill it to the top.
