Sweet and sour chicken is a weakness!

Served with quinoa or sometimes our Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers, this dish doesn't stand a chance after placing it in front of my crew. Slow-cooked to perfection, Crockpot Sweet And Sour Chicken is a must-try if you are a fan of Chinese cuisine.

Now don't get me wrong, we love nights without having to load the dishwasher and rinse off plates.

Days where the only thing you want to fight over is which Netflix show to binge tonight.

But just don't take our word for it- try it for yourself!

And should this recipe turn out to be a hit at your home too, then you'll probably enjoy this Crockpot Chicken and Rice Casserole as well.

IS ORANGE CHICKEN THE SAME AS SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN?

Orange chicken and sweet and sour are similar but there is a difference. Orange chicken has an orange flavor, as it uses citrus to flavor.

Whereas sweet and sour uses pineapple, soy sauce, and other ingredients for a sweet and savory take.

WHAT CAN I USE INSTEAD OF PINEAPPLE IN SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN?

If you would like go right ahead and leave the pineapple out of the sweet and sour slow cooker recipe. It adds some sweetness but is not a must make.

You can add just some pineapple juice to help give some sweetness without needing the chunks of pineapple.

HOW LONG IS SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN GOOD FOR?

3-4 days is what you can expect on terms of being stored in the refrigerator. Make sure it is in an airtight container so it doesn't take on other flavors of the foods in your refrigerator.

CAN I FREEZE SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN?

Transfer your chicken and sauce mixture into a freezer bag or airtight freezer container. Store in the freezer for 2-3 months.

Then thaw in the fridge until it is fully thawed. Reheat in the microwave or on low heat on the stove.

Don't heat on the stove too high of heat or it can burn the sauce. Since it is a sugary mixture it will burn easy, so stir often.
